Set up single sign-on (if necessary)
What is Single Sign-On (SSO)?
Single Sign-On (SSO) is a system that allows users to log in to multiple web and cloud services with a single authentication. There are several types of SSO, and Motivation Cloud supports the SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language) 2.0 authentication method.
Once SSO is configured, the login process for Motivation Cloud will change. When you access the Motivation Cloud login screen, the authentication service's login screen will be displayed. If authentication is successful, you will be automatically redirected and logged in to Motivation Cloud.
Steps to Configure Single Sign-On (SSO)
① Request SSO Setup
Please contact Customer Support to request SSO setup.
② Receive the Setup Guide
We will send you the “Motivation Cloud Series SSO/SAML 2.0 Integration Setup Guide” (Excel format).
③ Submit Required Information and Certificate
Fill in the following information in the setup guide and return it to us.
- The SSO Sign-in URL for your identity provider (IdP)
- A signature certificate encoded in Base64, in either PEM or CER format
- Email address domain(s) to be used with SSO (list all applicable domains)

⑥ Operation Check
After the SSO setup is complete, please perform an operation check. If any issues are found during testing, we will temporarily disable SSO and investigate the cause. If no issues are found, all users will be able to use SSO.
Adding and Updating Users After SSO Configuration
User additions and updates made in your authentication service are not automatically reflected in Engagement. Please perform the same updates manually in the Engagement user settings.
- Adding Users
- If you add a user in the authentication service, add the same user with the same email address in Engagement’s user settings.
- Changing Email Addresses
- If you change a user’s email address in the authentication service, also update the email address in Engagement’s user settings.
